LOT 3A of Trento Railway Bypass | Italy

The Trento Railway Bypass (Lot 3A) contract entails the design and construction of approximately 13 kilometers of railway, mostly underground.

Lot 3A includes the construction of a natural tunnel – the Trento Tunnel, of approximately 10.6 kilometers in length – and two short sections above ground, alongside the existing line. Four Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) will be used to excavate the Trento Tunnel: two will advance from the south, heading north and two from the north heading south.

It is part of a plan to quadruple the capacity of the Fortezza-Verona railway section for high-speed trains, located south of the access tunnel of the Brenner Base Tunnel on the Italian side.

Seli Overseas is part of the TRIDENTUM Consortium — together with Webuild as leader Ghella, Collini, and Tunnelpro,  responsible for the design and the construction. SELI’s experience in similar projects, involving long tunnels to be excavated with TBMs, will represent a fundamental support for the success of the project.
