Multi Mode TBM, capable of excavating in both Double Shield and EPB modes, to quickly construct tunnels in the complex geological formations characteristic of this hydroelectric plant.
For this project, SELI Overseas developed the design of a new type of Multi Mode TBM, capable of excavating both in double shield mode when in rock and in EPB mode when in loose soil.
The success of the project and the timely completion of the tunnel excavation confirmed the soundness of the innovative design choices made.
