Environmental Manager
The EM position reports to the Site Management and is functionally linked to the company’s QHSE Manager. They are responsible for all environmental control and management actions for the job order and coordinate any Environmental Officers.
In detail, the tasks of the EM are as follows:
- On a quarterly basis, drawing up a report on the status of implementation and achievement of set targets related to the identified environmental aspects.
- Acting as an interface between the Site Management and the other site divisions as regards the EMS
- Defining, processing and updating the operational and planning documents of the site EMS
- Carrying out internal audits in all areas of the company except those to which they belong in accordance with the Internal Audit Programme, which they draw up, preparing the Internal Audit Report and archiving all documentation produced pertaining to internal audits
- Proposing and coordinating the implementation of environmental education and training programmes, informing and raising awareness among all personnel on what is defined by Site Management
- Analysing the (quantitative and qualitative) data obtained as output from the process control activities, processing them to obtain useful data for the development of improvement plans
- Working alongside the purchasing area for all activities concerning the qualification and subsequent maintenance of suppliers in environmental matters, preparing an annual report on supplier performance for submission to the Site Management
- Ensuring the correct and legible drafting of records and their ongoing collection, archiving and storage
- Interfacing with the Works Management for all environmental aspects relating to the job order
- Coordinating and supporting all the activities of the specialist resources in environmental matters
- Drafting and/or updating the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on the basis of the final pre-works design and obtaining approval for it and for and any variants
- Verifying the conformity of the technical documentation and drawings prepared by the specialists, necessary for normal operation of environmental monitoring services, ensuring their compliance with the requirements set forth in the EMP and in the relevant procedures and instructions and ensuring environmental quality standards
- Producing reports (periodic and annual technical progress reports)
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory updates on quality, environment, safety and occupational health
- Monitoring the implementation of the EMS, verifying its effectiveness
- Providing input for management review
- Managing or assisting in the management of non-compliant products or activities, ensuring their resolution
- Developing supplier evaluation with the support of the other company departments concerned
- Manage the archiving of quality management documents (Quality Manual)
- Procedures, audit reports, management review records
- Managing the List of Qualified Suppliers via the Purchasing Department
