The Algiers Metro project that involved SELI Overseas aims to connect the city center to the airport. In fact, it extends the Metro line between the El Harrach station located in the historic center of the city and the airport area where the Aéroport station will be built. The project consists in the construction of the subway tunnel with a mechanized method using an EPB type TBM having an excavation diameter of 10.5m. The TBM has passed through 8 stations already built and 10 ventilation shafts with transversal connection tunnel, along a route that extends for approximately 9.5 km.

TBM excavation, lining and backfilling for approximate 8,60 km with a EPB TBM.

Excavation performed in two steps:
‐ Excavation of approx. 5,7 km from the Starting station to the Airport station;
‐ Dismantling the TBM and transport from the Airport station to the Starting station;
– Excavation from the starting station of the remaining 3,8 km;
